Today I offer three reasons why I’m glad September 23, 2011 finally arrived.
1. I finally finished my dissertation. Completely…revisions, formatting, and all. The next step is graduation (Saturday December 17 at 3:00pm), then Christmas, then New Year’s in Vegas.
2. Today is the Autumnal Equinox. Fall is, by far, the best season of the year in this country. Nature explodes into a palette of reds and golds and browns that make me wonder why I didn’t stay in Connecticut 17 years ago. The sports season is at its ripest…although the NBA is doing its best to impede on my autumnal exuberance. And October is the best…click HERE for reasons why October is the best month of the year.
3. Today, September 23, little Baby Brown finally turns one year old. Now that he’s older perhaps he will finally do “big boy” types of things…like sleep through the night or drink from a sippy cup or sleep through the night or get a job or sleep through the night.
