Weekend Getaway

We had a rough start to the month of March with Mrs. Brown, MDB #1, and MDB #2 all getting pretty sick within a two-week span.  Now that everyone’s feeling better, I thought it would be a good idea to throw everyone in the car on Saturday and just get out of town.

I reserved a night at the Westin in downtown Long Beach (and got an amazing deal…$70 discount!)  The plan was to chill at the hotel, eat some good food, go to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and go to the Queen Mary…and that’s exactly what we did.    It rained quite a lot on Saturday, and we decided to postpone the Aquarium and the Queen Mary until the next day.  So we spent Saturday at a place called the KDB (a lot like Gameworks or a Dave & Busters) and we had a great time.  When we woke up Sunday morning, we walked to Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles before coming back to get dressed, check out of the hotel, and begin our day at the Aquarium and the Queen Mary.

Here are some of the pictures (and one cool video) from the weekend.  Enjoy.

Checking in at the hotel.

Checking out the hotel gym.

His favorite thing to do all weekend was ride in elevators.

Gazing out of one of the Queen Mary windows.

Soulquarian Quote of the Day

"There is no hip hop manual for growing old...The 22-year-old college grad who used to love the Roots in 1994 never left. He’s just 40 now and has a wife and kids and doesn’t feel like spending all night at a club."
