Today is March 1st and I’m embarking on the “My 500 Words” challenge. Author Jeff Goins offers this challenge to his readers to encourage them to pump out their writing in smal, manageable chunks.
I am in the home stretch of finishing my first non-fiction book. This thing has consumed me for over two years, and I need it to be done. The book is composed of 54 small-to-medium sized chapters, and as of today, I have 16 more chapters to go. I finally set a goal to have this book finished by August 1st of this year, but I’m making a lot of good progress and I think I just might have it done by the time this month is over.
That’s why I joined the 500 Words challenge. Little by little, I will discipline myself to chop away at this thing until the book’s finished. Two weeks from now, I will be on spring break, and I’m devoting my entire spring break to knocking the hell out of these final chapters.
Wish me luck.
