Brown Nuggets

Several weeks ago, I distributed index cards to my college writing students and asked them to anonymously write down questions about anything–questions about college, problems at home that needed solutions, or even random general questions that they were just curious about.  A few weeks later, I realized that even though questions could be submitted anonymously, some students still may be hesitant to hear their questions asked aloud in class.  And there are still others who may be hesitant because they’re afraid I’ll recognize their distinctive handwriting.

That’s when I had a bright idea.

I can dispense my nuggets of wisdom digitally.  And so the Brown Nuggets site was born.

For those of you who follow me here on my blog, feel free to visit Brown Nuggets to see what the students are asking.  Also, feel free to leave comments or tell me what you think.

Soulquarian Quote of the Day

"There is no hip hop manual for growing old...The 22-year-old college grad who used to love the Roots in 1994 never left. He’s just 40 now and has a wife and kids and doesn’t feel like spending all night at a club."
